CHRISTENSEN FARMS’ Environmental Resource Manager, Adam Barka, was asked to participate in the panel discussion: “Food Production Sustainability – Trends/Issue/Opportunities” at the 2014 Minnesota Agri-Growth Annual Meeting held at the Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota back on November 6, 2014.

An important topic in our industry today, sustainability was the central theme of this year’s event! Joining Barka were panelists Rod Synder, Executive Director of Field to Market, Tyler Grove, General Agronomist of American Crystal Sugar Cooperative, Jennifer Shaw, Head of Sustainable Sourcing Solutions of Syngenta North America and Katrina Heinze, Organic Industry Affairs of General Mills

A day packed with great networking opportunities, discussion and presentations on industry outlooks, issues and much more, the MN Agri-Growth Annual Meeting has become a distinguished event educating individuals in agriculture and bringing us together to make a difference. Founded in 1968, Minnesota Agri-Growth Council represents members from all areas of Minnesota’s food and agriculture sectors, working together as one to promote the good of all directly and indirectly involved in Minnesota’s agriculture business. With over 200 companies, organizations and individuals, MN Agri-Growth Council is a member-based, not-for-profit organization.

Along with managing CF’s environmental and agronomy systems, Barka is also serving his second year on the Executive Board of the Minnesota Pork Producers Association (MPPA).
