Mary Ann Christensen

Chair of the Board

Mary Ann Christensen, wife of the late Bob Christensen, currently serves as Christensen Farms’ Chair of the Board. With an extensive background in agriculture, community outreach, economics and establishing businesses of her own, Mary Ann plays an important and active role in the company’s philanthropic and public affairs efforts.

Mary Ann follows the principle “the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing” to lead Christensen Farms in the meaningful work of providing food to a growing world, every day. Her focus is also on the profitability and performance of the organization in order to keep Christensen Farms at the forefront of excellence in agricultural production.

Mary Ann began her career with Carroll’s Food, Inc. as a farrowing house laborer and worked a three-year rotation covering all phases of production. After obtaining her master’s degree, she worked as a Director of Research for the leading swine equipment manufacturer, Hog Slat, Inc. where she aided in sales and promotion in farm research and manufacturing. From there, she began a data management service working with computerization of production records for regional producers.

Born and raised in South Carolina, Mary Ann holds a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University in Animal Science. She also holds a master’s degree from North Carolina State University in Agricultural Economics.
