Brown County farmers and their farm organizations donate $3,450 to New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and Springfield food shelves Friday. From left, Brown County Corn and Soybean Association grower Jim Peterson, Amber Portner of Christensen Farms & Feedlots, Inc.; New Ulm Emergency Food Shelf Director Brad Kirk; Brown County Farm Bureau President Greg Bartz and Brown County turkey producer and Minnesota Turkey Growers Association member Todd Miller donate a $1,150 check at the New Ulm food shelf Friday. Bartz said some people may have difficulty affording food and the organizations want to make sure they have ham or turkey for their Easter dinner.
